 Suppression remains for rape accused

The lawyer for a man accused of raping four women in Hamilton has lodged an appeal against decision to end name suppression
Name suppression will continue for the man accused of raping four women after luring them into his van in Hamilton's CBD.
The 37-year-old faced a total of nine charges in the Hamilton District Court yesterday, including three of rape and one of unlawful sexual connection.
Judge Robert Speir turned down a request for continued name suppression, granting it only until midday today. However, the lawyer for the accused has now lodged an appeal.
The accused will reappear in court in March, along with a 32-year-old woman also charged in relation to the sex crimes.
